So far I am off to a rough start in my weight loss. At the first weigh in (after making my goal) I gained weight and then got back to my starting weight (since making my new goal) for the next weigh in. I weigh in tomorrow and I am hopeful to be down one pound. I thought I was just setting goals with my friends which is nice to have their support (even though they only have a few pounds they want to lose) but somehow their husbands got involved and one of them lost 4 pounds in a week. Is this at all fair? I don't think so. It is very frustrating to weigh the same as my friends husband and have him drop weight so quickly while I struggle for each pound. I know I need to kick my own butt into gear and focus but I don't seem to do well "competing" with others. I just feel like a loser when I can't keep up. Not very motivating. Oh well...I need to quit whining and get to work!

That's ok. I gained all my weight plus 3 pounds back over the holiday. The important thing is that we get back up and start again. And yah, I hate it when I weigh more than guys. And especially when they diet and the pounds just fly off. It really isn't fair. But hey, if a famine ever hit, the guys would be the first to starve to death. There was once an arctic expedition that got stranded, and everyone died of starvation but the one woman, named Ada Blackjack, who was on the trip as a cook/seamstress. So we're actually better adapted than the guys. Am I helping - or making it worse?
